Articulation & Clarity
Speech Therapy
Articulation refers to how clearly your child produces speech sounds. If your child is difficult to understand, substitutes sounds (e.g., 'wabbit' for 'rabbit'), leaves sounds out of words, or is unclear to people outside the family, they may benefit from articulation therapy.
Our speech pathologists conduct a detailed phonological assessment to identify which sounds are affected and whether the pattern is developmental (age-appropriate) or disordered (requiring intervention). We differentiate between articulation errors (difficulty producing specific sounds) and phonological processes (pattern-based errors that affect groups of sounds).
Signs Your Child May Need Support
Difficulty being understood by unfamiliar people
Substituting sounds in words (e.g., 'wabbit' for 'rabbit')
Leaving sounds out of words
Distorting sounds (e.g., a lisp)
Frustration or self-consciousness about speech clarity
Speech not improving with age as expected
Our ApproachTherapy uses evidence-based approaches including minimal pairs, phonological awareness activities, and structured practice with targeted sounds in increasingly complex contexts — from isolation, to syllables, to words, to sentences, to conversation. Sessions are hands-on, play-based, and designed to feel like fun, not work. We provide home practice activities and work with teachers to support carry-over in school settings.
